Christmas Eve caroling in the neighborhood

On Christmas Eve, we went caroling with our friends Sarah and Yousef Master and their kids and each of their brothers and their families. Benji's best friend Xavi has been taking ukelele lessons for a few years and brought his uke and strummed along while we sang. Benji kept time on a tambourine and I think these photos make them look like wandering minstrels (especially when Xavi was dancing while playing!). Benji got sad a little later because he didn't know the words to the songs and he didn't realize that none of the other kids did either. Hopefully next year his reading skills will allow him to keep up with the adults (who also didn't remember any words!).  --Victoria
