Sleeping at Dance Practice

He insisted on wearing the yellow vest that is part of the dance group's costume, then passed out in the car on the way to practice.  He slept through the entire practice -- bear in mind that the room was filled with jangling bells and clashing sticks, and three accordions were being played about ten feet away from his head.  I wish I could sleep this soundly.  --Victoria

New Fish Tank

A few weeks ago, I set up a goldfish tank.  It was supposed to run for at least a week before we bought our goldfish:  this is to get the water temperature, chemical composition, aeration and filtration system just right in advance, so the fish will stay healthy.  During this time, Benji was just as mesmerized with the tank as he would be later, after we got the goldfish.  He pulled his rocking chair so that it was just in front of the tank and would sit there for significant periods of time, fascinated with the water, the bubbles, and the decorations.  He would occasionally assure me that he could see the fish.  Even though we had not yet brought them home from the pet store...  I'm not worried that he lacks imagination.  --Victoria

The funniest thing about this picture was how fussy Benji was about it as he was making it. He kept drawing about half of the figure that is Xavi, then looking at it critically and saying "no, that's not Xavi."  Then he would erase it and start again.

At least we all have arms in this picture! (unlike poor Aaron in yesterday's portrait!)
