Tamar's Teething Trouble

Poor Tamar seems to have more teeth coming in, and they're making her very unhappy. She is fussy and wants to be held much of the time. She also chews on her hand so hard she leaves red marks on the skin and a trail of drool running down her arm. We're trying to give her things like cold carrots and little popsicles to relieve the pressure and discomfort. Fortunately, Celeste keeps her busy and distracted during the day and we try to do the same in the evenings.

Unfortunately, Tamar sometimes gives in to her grumpy mood and desire to create counter-pressure on her gums by chomping on her brothers! Benji has been reading her the book "Teeth Are Not For Biting" in a loud voice, hoping to discourage this behavior. He seems to believe that he can change her if he only reads loudly enough!

In this photo, you can see her going for her hand. Hopefully these teeth (the canines) will break through soon and she'll have some relief.
