Sunday afternoon playdate fun (part 1 -- reading, cooking, and play-doh time)

These photos are from last weekend -- after we had fun in the playground on Saturday morning AND on Sunday morning, we hosted a friend (R) from about 4 pm to 8 pm.  R is five months older than Tamar and Daniel and his family is part of the babysitting co-op to which we belong.  We've been having him over for babysitting co-op playdates on a regular basis, which earns us points in the co-op so we can enjoy some nights out in the future.  He's a delight to have around because he plays very well with both Tamar and Daniel and Benji is great with him (and, obviously, very used to dealing with little ones of this age).

The kids had a VERY busy afternoon and evening!  In this post:  (1) reading (all), (2) cooking (Daniel & R), and (3) play-doh time (all -- with Benji providing some advanced instruction, apparently).

Sunday Morning -- Playground Fun (part 2)

In addition to hanging out and helping me watch the kids while Aaron worked on job searching and cleaning the house, my friends (the parents of Benji's friend from pre-school) also brought bagels and cream cheese to the park.  Just before we went home, I set the kids down for a serious snack and an adorable photo op.  :)

Sunday Morning -- Playground Fun (part 1)

Benji and his friend Myles played with the stomp rockets while Tamar explored a fabulously squelchy mud puddle she discovered.  Daniel picked up some basketball skills by hanging out on the court with Myles' dad, and I hung out with Myles' mom (my friend Keira) while keeping an eye on them all.

I leave for work before the kids get up and Aaron doesn't usually have time to do anything with Tamar's hair.  Tamar's favorite teacher (Miss Shoshana) told me a while ago that she's happy to brush and style Tamar's hair when she gets to daycare, so I sent in a brush and hair elastics and Tamar has been coming home with some adorable hairstyles that I never would have thought to try!  She's had bantu knots (which then led to a gorgeous bantu-knot-out) and, most recently, these adorable side pigtails.

Here's a video of Daniel playing basketball:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6csIHKAhWo
