When Benji looks at photographs of our wedding, he usually asks if he was there and I explain that he hadn't been born yet. Then he asks, "but where was I?" and I answer that he was not in the world yet, he was just in our hearts. Which leads to today's story...
A few days ago, Benji explained to me where babies come from:
"The baby is in
your heart, then it crawls [with emphasis on crawl and a demo on the
sidewalk] from your heart down to your belly. Then it grows and it's born
and it grows into a boy. Or a girl."
Hmmm... I didn't realize that I had solved this classic parental dilemma so neatly. For now.

Mommy has a new camera!

Playdate with Evan
Evan is one of Benji's friends from school. I picked up both boys after school one day last week, and they had a wonderful time playing at the sand table. They played really nicely together. After dinner at our house, we walked Evan home. It was a fine evening. --Victoria
