This Sunday, we took a family trip to the Shakespeare's Birthday celebration at the Folger Shakespeare Library. There was a marching band (!?) and demonstrations of sword fighting and (best of all!) a craft area so kids (of all ages) could make their own shield. Benji got creative and turned some of the materials into a sword as well. --Victoria

Daniel's smooth pick-up moves
Daniel decided to impress the 6 year old girl who was staying with us for the past couple of days. "Hey Ria . . . look . . . I'm climbing!" he shouted as he balanced between the middle row car seats. When that was not sufficiently impressive, he tried more gymnastic moves on one of the middle chairs, with a giant grin. No dice (I don't think she was even nearby, at that point).
Undaunted, he decided to regale her with a story of his daring exploits at daycare. "Hey RIA, today at school . . . I got to SCHOOL and I did a FLIP . . . and then I bonked my HEAD from my BIG FLIP . . . I bonked my HEAD . . . on A TOY." [you have to understand that he was acting this out the entire time he was describing it, much to the amusement of a passing neighbor]. Ria, on the other hand, waited patiently for him to come along to the house but wasn't really aware that he was trying to impress her. After a minute, she just turned and went into the house.
Being Daniel, he was totally nonplussed and simply moved on to a different project.
Below are the photos of him trying to impress her with his car-gymnastic-moves and his acting out of the flip-and-head-bonk story.

Benji's Spring Break Camp (Parkour!)
Benji asked to attend a Spring break camp at the American Parkour Academy and he's having lots of fun! Parkour is an activity (not really a sport) that involves lots of running through and over obstacle courses, so he's learning how to jump, how to land properly, and doing lots of acrobatics. He promised to teach me some of what he's learned when the weekend arrives. --Victoria

Brother/Sister Cuddles!
Tamar adores Benji. ADORES Benji. Occasionally, he acknowledges that he's fond of her as well.
