This morning I woke up to a Public Service Announcement via the baby monitor:

"I... have a WET... TUSHIE!"

Normal voice: "Butch the Truck rolled past Henry."

Deep voice: "THOSE ARE MY TRUCKS HENRY, STOP!"

Normal voice: "Henry did not stop. He pushed the cars."

Squeaky voice: "Butch . . . is a troubling engine. He's not a troubling engine, he's too big. He's not, but he's a firetruck. I'm sorry Henry!"

Normal voice: "I know where Butch is! He c'llects those passengers cars. He goes back.. and he back... and he back... He pulled, and he pulled, and he pulled, and he pulled... He grabbed those trucks... then Butch trumped his magnet."

Squeaky voice: "Then those cars were broken."

Normal voice: "He got some cars for Butch."

Squeaky voice: "Excuse me Butch! I'm sorry!"

Normal voice: "Did you ever see Henry?"

Deep voice: "NOOO... "

Normal voice: "I will push you, Emily and Thomas. Let's go -- into the Misty Island tunnel! That's where we go, to the Misty Island tunnel."

Things Benji Says (teaching good manners)

Aaron's brother, David, was visiting us last week.

David: Benji, can I have a hug and kiss?

Benji: No.

D: Aw, come on, can't I have a hug and a kiss? Please?

B: Well, since you said please . . . [gave David a hug and kiss]

I wish Benji were as good a remembering to SAY please as he is about reminding OTHER people to say please.

Yes, the goat is wearing a harness. Benji apparently has no fear of animals. Despite being afraid of many other things. :)

Farm Visit, part 1

Benji's little friend Jack moved out to a lovely house in the country, and Benji recently went out for a visit. The white animal in the first photo is actually a goat. More photos over the next few days! --Victoria

Playing At The Beach

A few weeks ago, we met Aaron's parents for a weekend at the beach. Benji was excited until he realized there was sand involved. He took one step onto the sand and then started crying for Aaron to carry him. He refused to put his feet down onto the sand for at least 20 minutes. Always cautious-- that's our boy! Eventually, we convinced him that it was okay for his feet to touch the sand, and he had a wonderful time. --Victoria

Where We Spent The Weekend

On Friday, as we were driving up to New Jersey, Benji announced: "We're going to the Island of Yom Kippur!"

I have no idea why he decided to do this. I'm pretty sure I couldn't do it. Also, I now know why he stays so skinny!

Things Benji Says

I was out of town this weekend. When Aaron got home on Friday and the babysitter left, Benji went to the kitchen, pointed to the spatula, and said "Daddy, I need that! I need that!"

Aaron handed it to him, at which point, Benji walked over to the stove and announced: "I make dinner for Super Daddy!" Aaron got him a chair to stand on, put a cast iron pan on the stove and put a few spoonfuls of salt into it. Benji had a fine time stirring "dinner" for Daddy.

He's such a sweet little guy.
